A taste of our Cooking Retreat

We offer a 5-day cooking and wine tour and tasting of Le Marche’s best wines. It is an immersion into the Italian lifestyle though cooking, tasting delicious traditional dishes, learning about le Marche wines, meeting the locals and visiting well known wine cellars.

Guests will arrive on Sunday, greeted at Ancona airport by our lovely driver Stefano who will personally take you to Villa Prati where you will receive a warm welcome with Prosecco and a lovely lunch and the rest of the afternoon to unwind and relax.

Monday through to Thursday, there will be 4 cooking lessons starting at 2,30 pm.

The idea of our cooking classes are to teach as well as prepare with the guests their meal for the evening in order for them to see how to plan a menu and execute a complete meal.

The menus will vary depending on the season and will consist of fresh seasonal ingredients

During the first 3 lessons you will learn how to make some of the most famous local and traditional dishes such as vincisgrassi (traditional lasagne from le Marche), il brodetto di pesce (fish soup), home made tagliatelle with duck sauce, gnocchi, focaccia bread and many other mouth-watering recipes.

Your teachers will be, the local woman, who according to tradition are the people who know best about local recipes, ingredients and cuisine. You will participate in a true cultural immersion, learning family recipes in Italian with the help of Daniela, who will translate everything into English and getting hands on in a local kitchen atmosphere.

The last day will be the piece de resistance, where your final cookery course will consist of teaching you how to prepare a delicious gourmet meal with our super talented chef, Rosaria Morganti, owner of the famous restaurant in Montecosaro I Due Cigni.

Breakfast will be served daily at 9 am with a buffet of delicious food including our homemade granola, porridge, cereal, fresh fruit and berries, fresh cakes and croissants, Greek yogurt, fresh breads with home-made jams and butter, omelettes and poached eggs.

There will be some morning visits available for who would like to local farmer’s markets, visiting local farmers, cheese factories and salumerie to gather the ingredients for the cooking class. The idea is to see what is in season and learn to plan a menu with what is available.

Lunches will be served from 1 pm buffet style so you can come and go at your leisure. Included are a selection of hot and cold Italian dishes.

Dinners will consist of a meal that you helped prepare with our chefs accompanied with delicious wines.

One day will consist of a wine tasting where the sommelier will come to the villa and begin a lesson on the history of wine making in Italy, the native grapes of the region before venturing into wine making in le Marche with a guided tasting of 4 of the region’s top wines.

Our aim of our cooking holiday is for you to leave the retreat relaxed, unwound and with great memories and a handful of great culinary tips and recipes to try out on your family and friends.

We guarantee to work to make your LUXCULINARYRETREAT experience the best it can be!
